IIPP adopts a robust Multi-Stakeholder Partnership (MSP) Model to enhance professional competencies in data protection and privacy.

Key Components of the Model

1. Training and Certification: Comprehensive programmes tailored to beginner, intermediate, and advanced professionals.

2. Global Standards Alignment: Incorporating frameworks like ISO standards, African Union conventions, and international data privacy protocols.

3. Sustainability: Reinvesting in training centres, research, and technological innovations.

What IIPP Will Do
1. Governance and Coordination

a. Establish an Africa Governing Council (AGC) to oversee operations, ensuring a sustainable and transformative business model.

b. Facilitate a general assembly of certified professionals with equal opportunities for leadership and participation.

2. Professional Standards and Certification

a. Develop career standards and minimum entry requirements aligned with industry norms.

b. Implement a unified scheme for certifications and training across recognised professional levels.

c. Standardise syllabuses and conduct annual professional examinations.

3. Training and Capacity Building

a. Approve and coordinate independent training centres across Africa.

b. Provide professional guidelines and resources aligned with local and international standards.

c. Offer conversion programmes for professionals, academics, and young graduates, tailored to certification levels and membership categories.

4. Recognition and Advocacy

a. Promote regional and federal acceptance of IIPP certifications.

b. Obtain international endorsements from globally recognised institutions.

c. Foster collaboration with related professional bodies for exchange programmes and technical cooperation.

5. Ethics and Compliance

a. Enforce a strict code of conduct and establish dispute resolution mechanisms.

b. Regulate and monitor annual certification processes nationwide.

6. Alignment with Global Standards

a. Tailor programmes to frameworks such as the Global Privacy Assembly, The African Union Convention on Cyber Security and Personal Data Protection, ECOWAS Supplementary Act, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Privacy Framework, Convention 108+ (Modernised Convention for the Protection of Individuals with Regard to the Processing of Personal Data), Network of African Data Protection Authorities (NADPA-RAPDP), African Union Child Online Safety and Empowerment Policy, ISO/IEC 27701 (Privacy Information Management System - PIMS), and ISO standards.

b. Focus training on public and private sector needs, enhancing professional competence and innovation.

Unite all stakeholders and practitioners under a shared professional vision, fostering harmony and inclusivity.

What IIPP Will Not Do

The IIPP is committed to maintaining neutrality and fairness by:

1. Avoiding discrimination based on religion, politics, geography, or professional affiliation.

2. Not promoting vendor-specific certifications or certifications from independent international syndicates.

3. Maintaining independence from existing professional institutions while collaborating through the MSP model.
